This site was made by a very sleep deprived parent of a toddler, looking for fun and engaging things to get the two of them out of the house.
This site was built after spending an hour browsing several different sites trying to find fun events for my kid to do on a rainy day in town while he was trying to break the window to go outside and run around. Every calendar I found online was incomplete - they each had something the others were missing. So this tool checks all of them 1x a day in the morning and compiles it into one page you can actually filter.
What it does
- Reads many local calendars every morning and drops the duplicates.
- Normalizes the age wording, so "Babies Up To 24 Months" and "Grade K-5" both become something you can filter on.
- Works out how far each venue is from downtown, and whether you could plausibly get there on the bus.
- Tags everything indoor or outdoor, free or paid, drop in or registration required.
- Publishes calendar feeds you can subscribe to from Google, Apple or Outlook, so the whole thing lands in the calendar you already use.
If something is wrong
Times come straight from the source and sources make mistakes, so always double check with the organizer before you head out, especially for anything outdoors in Michigan.
